If you would like to be kept informed about this book send an email to john@yfcwill.co.za)1.Inventory2.The following documents are needed to get letters of administration from closest Masters’ Office3.Ensure you keep the originals or at least certified copies4.Original will - correctly signed and dated5.Death certificate - (usually certified copies obtained from undertaker) 6.Copy of Identity Document - 7.Acceptance of appointment8.Inventory of assets9.Check there is adequate insurance over assets10.Open bank account, deposit cash and life insurance policies.11.Posting Creditors’ Notice12.Advise SARS & request status of tax returns.13.Valuations of assets14.Draft Liquidation & Distribution Accounts (L&D)15.Sent L&D to Master16.Clear queries with Masters’ office17.Print final L&D and send to Masters’ Office and local Magistrate (available for inspection)18.Posting L&D Notice19.Distribution to heirs.20.Release by Master
